FAQ Oven
SAFETY NOTES & COMMON ERRORS
Usage Safety
1. Oven Installation Distance
Distance from walls or cabinets: Ensure at least 10–15 cm on both sides and 20 cm at the back for ventilation and to prevent overheating.
Do not install the oven in humid areas or near water sources (sink, faucet) to avoid electrical leakage.
Avoid placing the oven near refrigerators or other electronic appliances, as the heat may affect their performance.
Do not place heavy items or kitchenware on the oven surface as it may block ventilation.
2. Baking Safety Tips
Do not open the oven door suddenly when baking at high temperatures — hot steam can cause burns.
Always use heat-resistant gloves when placing or removing trays.
Avoid touching heating elements and fan during operation — temperatures may reach up to 250°C.
Check food through the oven glass rather than opening the door too often to avoid heat loss and steam burns.
3. Hot Glass Warning
Oven door glass can heat up to 70–90°C during use.
Warn children and the elderly not to touch the glass door or handle.
Some Häfele models feature triple-layer glass to reduce surface heat — but always use caution.
4. Electrical Safety
Use a dedicated circuit breaker (16–20A) to avoid overloading.
Do not use multi-socket adapters or extension cords, as they may overheat or catch fire.
Unplug the oven immediately if you smell burning or detect unusual behavior.
Never clean or service the oven while plugged in.
5. Food Safety
Do not let parchment paper or foil touch heating elements — fire hazard.
Do not reheat sealed foods (e.g., whole eggs) — risk of explosion due to pressure buildup.
Always use oven-safe bakeware recommended by the manufacturer.
6. Child Safety
Use the child lock function (if available).
Do not let children open the door or operate the oven unsupervised.
Keep children at a safe distance during operation to avoid burns or accidents.
7. Emergency Handling
If the oven emits sparks or smoke: unplug immediately and open the door only after it has cooled down.
If the glass door is cracked: stop using the oven; do not operate it to avoid further damage.
If there’s a fire inside: keep the door closed, unplug the oven, and do not open the door until the fire is extinguished.
Common Errors & How to Fix Them
1. Common Error Codes
Error Code | Meaning | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|---|
E0 | Temperature sensor error | Sensor is dirty or faulty | Unplug for 10 mins, clean sensor, call technician if unresolved |
E1 | Convection fan not working | Fan is greasy or wire is loose | Clean fan, check wire connections |
E2 | Door not closed properly | Door lock greasy, gasket damaged | Clean gasket, replace if needed |
E3 | Heating element failure | Element is faulty or loose | Check and replace with genuine element |
E4 | Control board error | Circuit board failure or moisture | Reset oven (unplug 10 mins), call warranty service if needed |
E5 | Overheating | Blocked air vent or prolonged use | Turn off oven for 15–20 mins, check vents |
