FAQ Induction Cooktop (Electric)
COMMON ERRORS, ERROR CODES & SOLUTIONS
1. Summary Table of Common Error Codes
(Note: Codes may vary by model. Please refer to your product manual for accurate meanings.)
Displayed Code | Common Meaning | Suggested User Check | When to Contact Service |
---|---|---|---|
H / h | Residual heat warning – glass is still hot | Wait until temperature drops below ~50°C. Do not touch or cover with cloth/paper. | If the symbol doesn’t disappear even when cool → Contact technician. |
Lo / Lock | Child Lock is activated | Press and hold Lock key for ~3 seconds to unlock. | If unresponsive or button is faulty → Contact service. |
U (or blinking pot symbol) | No cookware detected / cookware too small | Use flat-bottomed induction-compatible pot ≥ required diameter. Center the pot on the zone. | If it happens with all pots → Possible sensor issue. |
E0 / E | No cookware or general error (varies by model) | Try a different pot, dry the glass surface, reset power. | If error repeats after reset → Contact service. |
E1 | Abnormal voltage | Check voltage source; use a voltage stabilizer if voltage drops. | If voltage is normal but error persists → Circuit board check required. |
E2 | Overheating (zone/component) | Turn off, let cool, ensure ventilation holes aren’t blocked. | If frequent → Clean fan or contact technician. |
E3 | Incompatible pot / wrong size / overheat (varies by model) | Use correct induction pot with flat base. | If it persists with proper cookware → Contact service. |
Er03 | Moisture/obstruction on touch panel | Wipe control panel clean and dry. Restart hob. | If issue remains → Touch panel may be faulty. |
F3 / F4 / F9 / FA (F-series codes) | Sensor or IGBT error | Disconnect power, do not attempt repair. | Contact Häfele service immediately. |
2. Self-Check Procedure Before Calling Support
Record the error code and situation (e.g. power level, cookware used, how long it had been running).
Switch off hob and cut power via dedicated breaker for 3–5 minutes to reset.
Check cookware:
Use a magnet on the base to confirm induction compatibility.
Base diameter should be ≥ 12–14 cm (depending on zone – see model manual).
Dry the control panel: Moisture or cloth covering keys may trigger errors (Er03, unresponsive controls).
Check ventilation: Ensure fan intake/exhaust is not blocked inside the cabinet; excessive dust may cause overheating (E2).
Inspect power supply: Is there a voltage drop when other high-wattage devices are used? Does the power cord feel hot?
Test individual zones:
If one zone fails → possible zone circuit issue.
If all zones fail → likely power or mainboard issue.
Take photos/videos of the error code and note the date/time – useful for warranty claims.
If issue persists → Contact Häfele Customer Service.
3. Basic Fan Cleaning Guide (User-level – light cleaning only)
Only perform this if the unit is fully powered off, unplugged, and you do not void the warranty seal. If the hob is built-in and still under warranty, contact technical support.
Steps:
Turn off circuit breaker.
Remove the ventilation mesh (if detachable and without warranty seal).
Use a soft brush or mini vacuum to remove dust, hair, and grease.
Do not spray water directly! If needed, use a damp microfiber cloth with neutral cleaner.
Reinstall and allow to fully dry before turning power back on.
4. How to Reset When Touch Panel Is Unresponsive / Frozen
Turn off the hob.
Switch off the circuit breaker for 1 minute.
Dry the control panel thoroughly.
Turn power back on, wait 10 seconds, and test buttons.
If still unresponsive: unplug longer (5 minutes) or call for service.
5. Recommended Maintenance Schedule
Interval | Task | Note |
---|---|---|
After every use | Wipe glass surface, check for spills | Prevents staining, burnt residue |
Weekly | Clean control panel and outer edges | Use damp cloth + mild cleaner |
Every 3 months | Vacuum fan vents underneath | Especially in closed cabinets or oily kitchens |
Every 6 months | Check fan noise/airflow | Ask technician if fan dismantling is needed |
Every 12 months | Inspect power cord, terminals, circuit breaker | Performed by qualified technician |
On any error | Stop using immediately, record error code, call service | Do not force hob to restart repeatedly |
