DETAILED CLEANING & MAINTENANCE GUIDE
How to Quickly and Effectively Clean Your Induction Hob – HäfeleHome

1. Recommended Tools & Products
Soft microfiber cloth (lint-free, non-abrasive)
Induction hob scraper / glass scraper (flat steel blade with safety cap)
Specialized cleaner for ceramic or vitroceramic glass (pH-neutral, non-corrosive)
Multipurpose neutral cleaner or diluted dishwashing liquid
Diluted isopropyl alcohol for light grease removal (optional)
Soft gloves when handling scraper blades
If your hob uses SCHOTT CERAN® glass, you can use the official CERAN® glass cleaner or an equivalent.
2. Quick Daily Cleaning After Cooking
Turn off the hob and wait for the “H” symbol to disappear (safe temperature)
Wipe off oil splatters or food residues with a damp cloth
Dry and polish with a clean soft cloth
3. Cleaning Burnt or Stubborn Stains
Switch off and unplug the hob completely
When the glass is still warm (not hot), hold the scraper at a ~30° angle and gently scrape burnt residues
Apply a few drops of ceramic glass cleaner, gently rub in circular motions using microfiber cloth
Wipe clean and dry thoroughly
For light discoloration: create a paste of baking soda + water, apply for 3–5 minutes, then wipe off
4. Common Mistakes to Avoid
❌ Do NOT use sandpaper, steel wool, or sharp knives – they scratch the surface
❌ Do NOT use strong acidic or alkaline cleaners (e.g., HCl, NaOH) – may corrode the glass
❌ Do NOT spray water directly into ventilation slots or the control panel
❌ Do NOT clean while the glass is very hot, unless removing melted sugar – in that case, use the scraper very carefully
5. Cleaning When Sugar, Plastic, or Foil Has Melted
Immediately turn off the hob if detected
While the glass is still warm, use the scraper to gently push off the melted layer
Once cool, clean the area with glass cleaner for final shine
