FAQ Induction Cooktop (Electric)

RESIDUAL HEAT WARNING & AUTO SHUT-OFF FUNCTION

– How It Works on Häfele Induction Hobs –

1. Residual Heat Indicator (Symbol: “H” or “h”)

Function:
Even though induction hobs generate heat directly in the cookware (not on the surface), the glass cooking zones can remain hot due to heat transfer from the pot’s base.

To ensure user safety, Häfele induction hobs display the “H” or “h” symbol on the control panel to indicate that a specific zone is still hot after use.

When does the indicator disappear?
The “H” symbol will automatically turn off once the glass surface has cooled to a safe temperature (typically below 50°C).

Important usage notes:

Do not touch the cooking zone while “H” is displayed – risk of burns.

Do not place towels, paper, or flammable items on the surface during this period.

2. Auto Shut-off Function

Function:
This safety feature automatically turns off the hob when it detects abnormal or unsafe conditions, such as:

No cookware detected on an active zone.

Cookware is removed during cooking.

The pot becomes excessively hot or exceeds the hob’s design capacity.

Continuous operation at high power for an extended period (to avoid overheating).

Unstable or fluctuating power supply.

Advantages:

Prevents fire hazards and electrical overload.

Saves energy.

Protects internal components and circuits.

Enhances safety, especially if the user forgets to turn off the hob.

Usage tips:

If the hob shuts off unexpectedly, check the cookware, ventilation, and power supply.

Do not restart immediately – allow the hob to rest for 5–10 minutes so the fan can cool internal components.

Clean the ventilation fan and filters regularly to prevent overheating due to dust accumulation.
